OVME: Black-Scholes Command
OVME is the Godel Terminal command for opening a Black-Scholes options pricing calculator with full Greeks and implied-volatility calculation.
How to use OVME
Scoped to a security:
Security Identifier/Ticker Country/Instrument Asset Class OVME
Example: AAPL US EQ OVME: opens the calculator pre-filled with Apple's live spot price.
Global:
OVME: opens the calculator empty; enter the spot price manually.
Inputs
| Input | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Underlying price | From realtime quote | Updates live when attached to a security; detach to pin a value |
| Strike price | Initialized from realtime spot | Freeform number once set |
| Volatility | 20% | Annualized; enter as a percent |
| Risk-free rate | 5% | Annualized; enter as a percent |
| Time to expiration | 30 days | Pick the unit: days, months, or years |
All inputs recalculate the outputs immediately.
Outputs
The calculator shows a call column and a put column. For each:
- Theoretical price
- Delta: sensitivity to a $1 change in the underlying
- Gamma: rate of change of delta
- Vega: sensitivity to a 1% change in volatility
- Theta: daily time decay (scaled to a 365-day year)
- Rho: sensitivity to a 100 bp change in the risk-free rate
Prices are displayed in the security's native currency symbol when one is attached.
Display Mode
A default / compact toggle shrinks the view for use alongside other windows.
Notes
- OVME is a pricing calculator: it is not a live-quote options chain. For an actual options chain, use OMON.
- Because it uses Black-Scholes, outputs assume European-style exercise; results are approximations for American-style contracts.
- The label "OVME" is retained as the Bloomberg-familiar mnemonic; today it exposes only the Black-Scholes model (more pricing models may be added in the future).
